Scripture Scribbles Paint & Devotion

Scripture Scribbles is an offering from Denise Itule who is a mental health counselor in training who specializes in Substance Use Disorders and Addiction. This class offering was created to provide an expressive outlet for discussing healthy recovery tools based on a Christian foundation. Scripture Scribbles is a combination of a devotion/ psycho-education class paired with a painting that reflects a scripture in the study. Students will actively participate in small group discussion as well as having the opportunity to paint a small canvas that they can keep. The study will focus on empowering students to better their lives through God’s Word as it applies to their purpose and recovery. These scriptures are carefully chosen to align with themes of hope, purpose, resilience, and recovery. Discussions of the scriptures are facilitated to provide spiritual guidance and inspiration. The art aspect allows the student to focus on the process of the creation rather than the final product, promoting a non-judgmental and supportive atmosphere.
